Veteran-Ops

Live (early access) Self-help software that does the heavy lifting

Decode your VA decision letter, find the compensation you're leaving on the table, and walk out with sign-ready paperwork. You review, you sign.

Veteran-Ops is the application. Rating Raider is the agent inside it: it reads your file, asks the questions your records cannot answer, and hands the plan back to you. Free and open source, and self-hostable on your own hardware.

Who it is for

Built for veterans navigating the rating system with receipts.

Veterans working their own VA claims, plus the VSOs and clinics who carry a caseload for hundreds of them.

Why it wins

The decision letter, decoded.

01

Stop guessing what your decision letter means. See exactly what the VA granted, what it denied, and what was missing, in plain English.

Decodes your VA rating decision into plain English: per-condition results, the missing elements (current disability, in-service event, nexus), a cross-check of the combined-rating math, and your appeal-window countdown across all three AMA lanes.

02

Find the compensation you're leaving on the table before your next filing, not years after.

Builds a Game Plan grounded in actual rating law: pyramiding cautions, mental-health single-rating rules, TDIU screening, reduction warnings, and finders for secondaries and separate ratings you could still establish.

03

Walk out with filled official forms, not a to-do list.

Preps the paperwork itself: fills the official January 2026 VA 21-526EZ, personal statements, buddy statements, nexus-letter templates, TDIU worksheets, and appeal drafts, always for your review and signature.

How it works

Upload. Map. Build the claim file.

01

Dump everything in

Drag in files, folders, or whole ZIPs of service and medical records. Local AI reads, sorts, and links every page to your conditions, and search works across all of it.

02

Get your Game Plan

Veteran-Ops decodes your decision letters, cross-checks the VA's math, and maps every move worth making, with the regulation behind each one and warnings where a move could backfire.

03

Review, sign, file

It hands you filled official forms and drafts. You review every word, you sign, and you file it yourself. Free help from an accredited VSO is always an option, and we show you where to find it.

Pricing and access

Pricing [[PRICING TBD]]

Veteran-Ops is live and in active use by veterans today. Individual accounts open in cohorts as capacity allows, so join the waitlist and we'll bring you in, with means-tested grants and sponsor-a-veteran options coming. VSOs and clinics get multi-tenant workspaces with case files, consent capture, and a full audit trail.

Veteran-Ops is self-help software under 38 CFR 14.629. It never files for you, never represents you, never predicts your rating, and never gives medical opinions. You review and sign everything, and free help from accredited VSOs is always an option (we link to it throughout the app).

FAQ

Plain answers.

Does Veteran-Ops file my claim or represent me?

No, and that's on purpose. Veteran-Ops is self-help software under 38 CFR 14.629. It decodes, calculates, and preps sign-ready paperwork, but you review, sign, and file everything yourself. It never represents you, never predicts your rating, and never gives medical opinions. Free help from accredited VSOs is always an option, and we point to it throughout the app.

Where do my records go?

Onto hardware we own. OCR, classification, extraction, and every other AI step run on Magic Unicorn's own GPU fleet. Your service and medical records are never sent to a public AI API.

Can the AI get the math wrong?

The AI never does the math. Combined ratings use a frozen implementation of the 38 CFR 4.25/4.26 tables with the bilateral factor, tested against the regulation's own worked examples, and back pay uses official 2018-2026 VA rate tables, verified 81 for 81.

I already have a decision letter. What does it do with it?

Upload it and get plain-English results per condition, flags for what was missing (current disability, in-service event, nexus), a cross-check of the VA's combined-rating math, and a countdown on your appeal window with all three AMA lanes laid out.

Who's Sarge?

Sarge is our Army Ranger unicorn, and he runs the show inside the app. He'll walk you through intake, your Game Plan, and C&P exam prep, and he'll warn you loudly before any move that could poke the bear on an existing rating.
